Theertham & Prasadam

1) When the water become sacred and we say it as ‘Theertham’ ?

Thiruvaradhana (Pooja) water is mixed with powders of Cloves (லவங்கம்), cardamomum (ஏலக்காய்) and Edible camphor (பச்சை கற்பூரம்). This water is offered to Deity for Padyam, Aarghyam and Achamanam. That is the water was offered for cleaning Lord’s legs, hands and mouth. Water is also offered for drinking after neivedyam (food).

All the above water, after offering action, was collected in a vessel and this becomes sacred ‘Theertham’. This vessel is normally a silver or copper cup.

No daily abhisekam is taking place in Vishnu temples. If the Moolavar is from granite, Annual Thirumanjanam is done once in a year. For Utsava Murthy also Thirumanjanam is done after removing kavacham once in a year (jeyestabhisekam).

These are Karma Bheram (Moolavar), Utsava Bheram, Bali Bheram, Theerta Bheram, Snana Bheram and Sayana Bheram. Snana Bhera murti is exclusive for doing thirumanjanam on specific occasions.

During the times of Prathishtai (first time erection and during renovation), Utsavam (annual festival), Prayascchittam ( fire etc.), and during Vaidheeka karmas abhishekam has to be performed.

No contamination in temples and if there is any, it is only in the mind of some (nastika) persons.

2) How does this water offer to Vishnu deity and become a Prasad to us?

Tulsi leaves were offered to Lord Vishnu deity. This tulsi leaves are added to the theertham and when ‘Theertham’ is received by us, it becomes Lord Vishnu’s Prasad.

3) How to receive the sacred water from the Archaka?

(i) Hiranya Karma Samhita:

“Vastram sathvikunik ruthya panau paneemcha vinyaseth
Tat theertham prethistabya thribibeth binthu vargitham
Paramanu samam theertham yavaththu pathitham buvi
Thavath varsha sahasrani narake parimajjathi”

A cloth or angavastra is to be folded twice and placed on the left palm. Right palm is placed on the cloth and receive the water from the Archaka.

While receiving even if a drop of water spilled to the earth both archaka and devotee will be in hell for thousand years. (That is why a folded cloth is used.)

(ii) Bruhu Samhita:

“Goharnnakkruthi hasthena mashamakna jalam bibedth
Thannuna mathikam veethva surabhana samam bavedth”

The right palm is to be like cow’s ear. The amount of water for consumption
should be equal to the quantity of water just to immerse a black gram. For taking more or less than this quantity it is equal to taking sura drink.

4) How many times to receive it?

Water is to be recived by three times from the priest through utharini (spoon).

“Prathamam deha sudyartham Dwithiyam athma sudthikam
Thritheeyam moksha sidhyartham theerth thapra sanalakshanam”

First time is for body cleaning, second time for Atma cleaning and third time for salvation.

5) What is the benefit one will get?

Varahasamhita:

“Theertham pipathi yomarthyah sarvapapaih pramuchyathe
Chathurvitham phalam prabya mamaloke mahiyathe”

This water Prasad is a remedy for all types of sins. Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha (The Purusharthas) are assured. One can live along with God-head.

Where do you keep your Cell phone normally?

A True & Sad Story.

                                                                 Ladies

A lady was always having abortions. When the fetus got to be 2-3 months old she used to lose it. This happened several times over. The couple went to check with many doctors and at last one of the doctors examined the dead baby and found that the baby's body cells kept dying as the baby was growing in the womb until he / she could not survive. This was because her uterus was affected by cell phone Radiation...

The doctor told her she now has no chance to give birth to a healthy baby because the radiation has affected her uterus so that the major portion of the cells in her uterus have already died. This happened because she had been keeping her cell phone in her working jacket so that the phone rested against just on the right spot of the uterus.. She had been wearing it like this for a few years.

Please beware of this and take note if you don't want what has happened to this woman to happen to you.

Guys

Please do not keep your cell phone near to the kidney position and pants pocket as this will damage your genital area and affect your ability to father a baby. This rule goes for the usage of laptop also. NEVER place a laptop directly on your lap, as it does serious harm to the reproductive system. The other doctor also advised another friend to keep her cell phone away from her new born baby to avoid radiation damage to the baby's brain cells. Do not let the baby or toddler play with the cell phone.. This is because the small young baby or toddler is still very fragile and growing, so he/she is much more vulnerable to radiation damage.

Please remember NOT to sleep with your cell phone on the bed. DON'T even put it next to your bed. Keep all other electronic goods (such as TVs) which also give off radiation, away from your bedroom to reduce risk as we have to sleep a few hours every day in our bedroom at night.

Further, do not imagine that if you switch off the TV there will be no radiation. Actually it is still around in your room. It is not advisable to have even a small digital alarm clock close to your head while sleeping.

Dearest friends & family members - Please do not ignore cell phone radiation which will damage our health or body organs. Please put away your cell phone whenever you don't need it much.

Lord Of Lords .............Shiva

Shiva with Parvati. Shiva is depicted three-eyed, with crescent moon on his head, the Ganga flowing through his matted hair, wearing ornaments of serpents and a skull necklace, covered in ashes and Trisula and Damaru are seen in the background.

VAMANGE CHAVIBHATI BHUDHARASUTADEVAYAGAMASTAKE |
BHALE BALA VIDHURGALE CHA GARALAM YASYORASIVYALARATA||

SOAYAMAM BHUTI VIBHUSHANAH SURA
VARAMSARVADHIYAH SARVADA,
SHARVAH SAVAGATAH SHIVAM SHASHINIMAH
SHRI SHANKARH SHATUMAM ||

Meaning : That Lord Shiva who has on his left side Mother Parvati, who has Ganges and moon on his forehead, who has poison in the throat and cobras on the chest, such an omnipresent greater than the gods, Lord Shiva may protect me.

Now, let us consider this scriptural form of Lord Shiva, with scientific view and see what does God want to preach the common people.

WHY JAGDAMBA PARVATI IS PRESENT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF SHIVA
Jagdamba Parvati is the form of power. Lord Shiva always keeps her on to his left side, because, he himself remains in a state of Tapasya (meditation). People and scriptures too, assume that the left part of the males is inauspicious and trouble-causing. Where as Parvati is the form of power and thus always auspicious. Hence, in order to destroy all the inauspiciousness and obstacles, Lord Shiva keeps Parvati on his left side. Besides, Lord Shiva is himself a form of inauspiciousness as :

AMANGALYAM SHEELAM TAVABHAVATU NAMAIVAMAKHILAM |
TATHAPI SMARTRINAMA VARADA PARAMAM MANGAMASI ||

Meaning : It is famous in the whole world that Lord Shiva is inauspicious, but a giver of all kinds of auspiciousness. Nevertheless, He is the giver of all kinds of auspiciousness for those who remember him. This virtue is because of Parvatis presence with him.

Thus acting on the principle :

NARYASTU YATRA PUJYANTE RAMANTE TATRA DEVATAH

That is where the womanfolk is worshipped, the gods stays there, Lord Shiva preaches the same to his devotees, that if they respecta woman, all the inauspiciousness all the hurdles, would be removed automatically.

WHY MOTHER GANGA ON THE HEAD

The Ganges, the most sacred river in India, shows coolness, holiness and serenity. Lord Shiva holds her on his head, thus preaching the devotees that if they bear coolness, holiness and serenity in their head i.e. if they give up anger, envy and disturbance that haunts their mind they will achieve all kinds of perfections and successes.

WHY THE NEW MOON ON THE FOREHEAD (चन्द्रशेखर)

The moon is shinning but cool celestial body. Lord Shiva wears it on his forehead, thus preaching for peaceful mind and forsightedness. If decision is taken with cool peaceful mind and far sightedness, all the tasks will be completed successfully and an increment occurs in one's honour.

MEANING OF POISON IN THE THROAT (नीलकण्ठ)

When the Gods and Demons unitedly churned the sea, it was the poison that came out first. Seeing the lethal poison, both the gods and the demons got nervous and reached to Lord Shiva and prayed him to hold it. Lord Ashutosh (Shiva) agreed to their prayers and swallowed the deadly poison. That poison, however, did not reach God's stomach, instead it stuck in the throat turning it blue.

Thus, holding the poison in the neck, Lord Shiva preaches that one should not contain poison in his belly for the other. It also means that one should not even wish ill for the others, leave apart doing. Speaking harsh words is however other thing, but one should not cultivate the feelings of envy and enemity for the others.

WHY IS THE SNAKE ON THE CHEST?

It is very strange that people are usually scared of snakes because these are poisonous creatures. In scriptures and in practical life, snake is given a name Kaala i.e. the death. But Lord Shiva bears snakes on his chest. Thus he preaches the people that if they do not engage their mind and intellect in the worship of God, death is always facing them. If you keep your mind and intellect busy in prayers and worship, even death can do no harm to you. Instead it would become a means to adorn you.
The reason of having a snake around his chest is that, VISHASYAA VISHAMAUSHDHAMA, i.e. the best antidote for poison is poison itself. Hence to cancel the effect of the poison Lord Shiva has worn poisonous snakes around his shoulders.

WHY IS THE OX THE VEHICLE OF LORD SHIVA?

Scriptures assume the ox as an incarnation of Dharmraj as is mentioned in Parikshita Kaliyugaprasanga that Kaliyuga is killing the Dharma which is in oxen form.Sage Manu also writes :

VRISHO HIBHAGAWANA DHARMASTASYAYAHKURUT ALUM |
VRISHANAM TAM VIDURDE VASTASMADDHAMA NA LOPAYETA ||

Meaning: An Ox is a different incarnation of the Dharma god, whoever kills it must be taken as a sinner. Hence, one must not cause the disappearance of Dharma. Riding the Ox, Lord Shiva preaches the people that -

DHARMO RAKSHATI RAKSHITAH
Meaning: The protected religion protects the follower. Hence, follow the religious path, no shield is better than it.

Third Eye:
Shiva is often depicted with a third eye with which he burned Desire (Kāma) to ashes. There has been controversy regarding the original meaning of Shiva's name Tryambakam (Sanskrit: त्र्यम्बकम्), which occurs in many scriptural sources. In classical Sanskrit the word ambaka denotes "an eye", and in the Mahabharata Shiva is depicted as three-eyed, so this name is sometimes translated as "Having Three Eyes".

My Love Saga ...........!!!

Love All .........

So, Let’s start a ride into my personal life. Before going check your seat belts once.

On 28th Sep, 2004 I saw her for first time. At that time I have completed my intermediate. She belongs to different institute. I said to my friends I liked her very much “If I want to marry I will marry only that girl”. Many of my seniors and friends paused for a while and told please don’t attract to her. For you it is very difficult to get her. But I have a confidence on me I went to the seniors who are there in her institute; many of them also said that “She is very beautiful and good too. But it is very difficult to her; we all also tried to her and some people are still trying”. I kept these words aside I didn’t take those words to my mind also I remembered only those words “She is beautiful and good too”.

Then I went directly to my parents with a shaking voice. Firstly they said no. Go for the girl which we decide. I said Pappa Mamma No, I can do that and also I explained them about her goodness, beauty also if I marry her life will settle and my future will be in colours. Then they convinced a little bit. Later understood her and encouraged me a lot, because her beauty is unexplainable in words also I can settle when I catch her LOVE. This builds my confidence double and I am in the feeling that “No one is there to stop me now”.

Then straightly I went to her and talked with her for first time. She is very good, I liked her in my first meet itself…

When our friendship is becoming stronger, I knowing that it is really difficult her.

Finally I proposed her on 5th Nov, 2006 she said “Hey you met me only six months back how can you say that anyway I want a time to decide.”

I said take your own time (I think that is the mistake I done she took nearly 3 months to decide.)

After that finally she said O.K to me.

At that time my feelings were unexplainable. I shared this news with my parents, teachers and friends.

All of them were shocked at that time…. (My friends and teachers thought I can’t but I did it)

Then after my life is in colors with her love…

After some months she said she wants to tell the same with her parents.(Another difficulty starts here)

I said O.K (But some nervous is there in my mind. They will accept me or not?)

They invited me and conducted a test (to know that is I correct person to her). I succeeded in that test too….

This time my relatives also shocked… (Humor: I am giving shocks to all people around me)

So, what next I asked her (I mean shall we marry)

She said “what is hurry now, our relationship is too small now we will spend some more time by way of dating.”

I said why ?

She Said “Because she wants to experience LOVE”

My feeling at that time “Oh… Hufff….”

I asked how many months?

She said years!!! (With smiling face)

Years? O.K How many years??

She said 3 years

Oh my god I can’t wait till that time but what to do no choice!!!

I asked her “Are you sure after 3 years we are going to marry ?”

She Said “YES”

So friends up to now 3 years 6 months is completed (without knowing the time with her LOVE)

We are engaged now. After another 6 months we are getting married.

This is my first INVITATION to all of you.

This is my love story friends. How is it?

I want to Thank to My Parents for giving such a nice girl and encouraging me a lot. Ofcourse many of my friends and Relatives Discouraged me but I am on my way !

Oh Shit I forgot to say u her name right…
Her name is
:
:
:
:
:
:
“CA”

Tree !!!!

The average adult at rest inhales and exhales something like 7 or 8 liters of air per minute. That totals something like 11,000 liters of air  in a day
.

How can this Oxygen be replaced on the Earth ??
Have anyone of us thought ever ??

Nope we haven't ...Infact many of us forgot the basic point that Plants produce oxygen and they are also help for the maintenance of planet  properly ...........

The only Living things on Earth that provide us Oxygen for our survival are plants....

Plant atleast one plant or Tree in a month, If not possible atleast one plant Atleast on your B'day ...........May you give life to one more plant on your B'day

SAve PLanTs ...............SavE FuTurE GeneRaTioNs...........

What is Time ? ? ?

The smallest unit of time is nimesha. This is the amount of time it takes to blink.

Fifteen nimeshas make one kashtha and thirty kashthas are one kala. Thirty kalas make one muhurta and thirty muhurtas are one day. Thirty days are one month. Each month is divided into two lunar fortnights, shukapaksha and krishnapaksha. Six months are called an ayana. There are thus two ayanas in a year. Three hundred and sixty human years are equivalent to one year for the gods.

The lengths of the four yugas (eras) are defined in terms of years of the gods, not in terms of human years. There are four eras and their names are kritayuga or satyayuga, tretayuga, dvaparayuga and kaliyuga. Satyayuga lasts for four thousand divine years, tretayuga for three thousand, dvaparayuga for two thousand and kaliyuga for one thousand. This adds up to ten thousand divine years. The sandhyas and sandhyamshas are the intervening periods between the yugas and these add up to two thousand divine years. Thus, the four yugas taken together last for twelve thousand divine years.

In a kalpa (cycle), each of the four yugas occurs a thousand times. A kalpa has fourteen manvantaras (eras). In a manvantara, each of the four yugas thus occurs seventy one times. One kalpa corresponds to one day for Brahma. One thousand kalpas are one of Brahma’s years and eight thousand of Brahma’s years make one of Brahma’s yugas. One thousand such yugas make up one savana and Brahma lives for three thousand savanas. This period is known as a trivrita.

During each of Vishnu’s days, one Brahma is born and dies. And during each of Shiva’s days, one Vishnu is born and dies.

Then were 'Mungerilal ke hasin sapane' and 'karamchand' ...'Vikram Betal', etc.

How did one survive growing up in the 80's and 90's?
We had no seatbelts, no airbags..

Cycling was like a breath of fresh air…

No safety helmets, knee pads or elbow pads, with plenty of cardboards between spokes to make it sound like a motorbike…

When thirsty we only drank tap water, bottled water was still a mystery…

We kept busy collecting bits & pieces so we could build all sort of things … and we were fearless on our bicycles even when the brakes failed going downhill…

We were showing off how tough we are, by how high we could climb trees & then jumping down….It was great fun….

We could stay out to play for hours, as long as we got back before dark, in time for dinner…

We walked to school, or sometimes we even rode our bicycle.

We had no mobile phones, but we always managed to find each other…. How?

We lost teeth, broke arms & legs, we got cuts and bruises and bloody noses…. nobody complained as we had so much fun, it wasn't anybody's fault, only ours

We ate everything in sight, cakes, bread, chocolate, ice-cream, sweet sugary drinks, fruits..yet, we stayed skinny by fooling around.

And if one of us was lucky to find a 1 litre coca cola bottle we all had a swig from it & guess what? Nobody picked up any germs...

We did not have Play Stations, MP3, Nintendo's, I-Pods, Video games, 99 Cable TV channels, DVD's, Home Cinema, Home Computers, Laptops, Chat-rooms, Internet, etc ...

BUT, we had REAL FRIENDS!!!!

We called on friends to come out to play, never rang the doorbell, just went around the backdoor…

We played with sticks and stones, played cowboys and Indians, doctors and nurses, hide and seek, soccer games, over and over again…

When we failed our exams we were given a second chance by simply repeating the same grade…without visiting psychiatrists, psychologists or counselors…

Such were the days…

We had freedom, success, disappointments and responsibilities. ..

Most of all, we learned to respect others…

Are YOU from that generation?? If that's the case, email this to all your friends from the same era…

Maybe this message will help them forget the stress that surrounds us these days….and just for a few moments puts a smile to their faces as they remember what life was really like in the good old days……

A Friend .........

The following are of the kind of friends:
· One who has played with you in the dust, i.e. in childhood
· One who is bound by an obligation
· One who is of the same disposition and fond of the same things
· One who is a fellow student
· One who is acquainted with your secrets and faults, and whose faults and secrets
are also known to you
· One who is a child of your nurse
· One who is brought up with you one who is an hereditary friend

These friends should possess the following qualities:
· They should tell the truth
· They should not be changed by time
· They should be favourable to your designs
· They should be firm
· They should be free from covetousness
· They should not be capable of being gained over by others
· They should not reveal your secrets

Check how many do we have & how many do we need to cultivate

Life a Big 'Q'

Searching for answers for many Q's that evaded me for so long, i got lost in under a mask of innocence; it’s been so long words kept me awake

Many night long, making me restless and confused;

Drowning wishes of a long lost past,
i let my life down,............
i let myself down;............

So with a smile on my lips and a wish on my heart

I give faith one more reason i give life another chance to make my wish come true;

Let's Walk Towards Success

Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing. ----- Denis Waitley

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
----- Ralph Waldo Emerson

What I personally feel is Future is not what we planned for Tomorrow !! It's the result of what we do today !

Do the best in present day Enjoy the Future............!!!
